Hi. Thanks for visiting!

I write contemporary women’s fiction and romance set in the quaint charm of heritage villages.  My books offer heartwarming, feel-good reads, emotional journeys and happy endings.

We all have those life challenges that we wouldn’t choose, and my characters don’t escape them either. It’s tough work making them suffer. But finding inner resilience and leaning on the power of friendship and love is the true-life grit in their stories.

As well as books and reading I love to walk, and to dabble in graphic design, flower gardening (especially big pots in small gardens), and all things heritage.

I have scribbled for decades around working and studying – nursing and history degrees – and now write full-time. I’m still grappling with time management and learning to write faster and better, but the characters keep appearing. They arrive fully formed and I love researching their lives before they drop seamlessly into their story.

You will find some of my favourite things in those stories:

  • beautiful old buildings
  • small towns and villages
  • stories with heart and humour
  • sisterhood and friendship sagas
  • cute kids wise beyond their years
  • cuddly cats and devoted dogs
  • flower farms – love peonies and lavender
  • cosy rooms and cottages
  • cheese scones and coffee.

The perfect ingredients for escape into another world.

In the real world, I live in New Zealand close to beaches and mountains, and world-class coffee. I grew up with an English mother, surrounded by Durham accents, and reading children’s books with lashings of ginger beer – showing my age here.

I’ve been lucky to visit the UK several times and live briefly in some of my favourite places – the Cotswolds, London, Edinburgh and back to London! I hope to experience all that history again one day.

Wishing you happy reading and relaxing times.
